Meghan Canfield
Masters runner and coach Meghan Canfield in Corvallis, Oregon, where she has spent most of her life. Her youth was spent outdoors on a small farming riding horses and wrangling cattle and chickens. She picked up running in her 20s, gaining distance with age, and began ultra running in her 40s.
Over the past three decades she has qualified and run in the marathon Olympic trials four times, have completed Western States 100 Mile Endurance Run 13 times, 10 of those being in the top 10, and all but one under 24 hours. She represented the USA in the 100K World Championships for nine consecutive years, placing in the top 3 for the team eight times. She is still training and racing competitively and serves on the board of directors for Waldo 100k and for a local run club where she oversees the grant giving program that donates running shoes and equipment to all the local school running programs.
