Doug Mayer grew up trail running in New Hampshire’s White Mountains. Nine years ago, he moved full time to Chamonix, France after founding the trail running tour company, Run the Alps. He is the author of The Race That Changed Running: The Inside Story of UTMB. His most recent book is The Last of the Giants, about Italy’s 330K Tor des Géants trail race.
