Launching October 15, The Claims Department is a new science podcast hosted by Zoë Rom and Dr. Nick Tiller in which they put fitness, health, and wellness claims under the microscope and help listeners sharpen their scientific literacy along the way.

The Claims Department is a new science podcast from UltraSignup about health, fitness, and nutrition, hosted by journalist Zoë Rom and exercise physiologist Dr. Nick Tiller. Zoë and Nick dig into the studies, headlines, trends, and extremely confident internet takes telling you how to train, eat, recover, and live. They figure out what holds up, what falls apart, and what any of it can teach us about getting fitter, feeling better, and thinking critically. Skeptical, not cynical.

The Claims Department – Episode 1

Here is Episode 1, which goes deep on the interesting and controversial subject of peptides. What are they? Why are so many ultrarunners using them? Are they legally available over-the-counter or do they need a prescription or some sort of dark web connection? Do they help in training and performance? Should runners be using them without professional medical guidance?
